are the origins of Tea leaf reading?
Tea
leaf reading actually first became popular in the 18th and 19th
centuries and it is one of the most traditional methods of fortune
telling still in use today; the Victorians in particular were fascinated with fortune telling and tea leaf reading
How
does it work?
A small amount of tea is poured into a tea cup and the liquid drained
off, leaving the tea leaves behind. The cup is then turned upside
down on its saucer and rotated three times.
The tea leaf reader then interprets the patterns made by the leaves
in the cup. Tea leaf readings can be given using either the client's
own cups, our Vintage China collection, Victorian crockery or an authentic Edwardian-style divination
cup and saucer.
